Chuck Violand’s
Profit Building Financial Suite

Proven systems to help you lead your cleaning and restoration company to maximum performance and profit

This time-saving, Profit Building Financial Suite contains the following Microsoft® Excel files on CD-ROM:

DATA COLLECTION FORMS

Two forms are included in the Profit Building Suite to make sure you capture all the information you’ll need when using the costing and pricing worksheets:
  • Field Inspection Guide
Collects information that will be needed to price your job while you are inspecting work in the field. Enter the data on the Extraction Cleaning Pricing Form to price your work profitably.
  • Technician’s Log
Records information and helps you monitor the efficiency of your cleaning crews. The equipment hours and vehicle mileage will be used on the Job Costing Worksheet. This form also helps you monitor your truck and equipment maintenance programs.

COST ANALYSIS SPREADSHEETS

Before you can establish the price of a job, you first need to look at your costs, using these four spreadsheets:

  • Direct Labor Costing Analysis
Shows you exactly what each employee costs you every hour s/he works.
  • Equipment Costing Analysis
Shows you what you need to charge for a piece of equipment each hour you use it. You will need to complete one of these forms for each piece of equipment you use.
  • Material Costing Analysis
Shows you how much you need to charge every hour you use chemicals or other materials. You can customize the equipment names and the names of the chemicals and materials you use.
  • Vehicle Costing Analysis
Shows you what it really costs to operate a truck.
COSTING AND PRICING WORKSHEETS

Once you have developed your labor, equipment, material, and vehicle costs, you will be able to use the costing and pricing worksheets to help you determine what it actually costs to do a job, and what to charge for your work.
  • Extraction Cleaning Pricing Form
Allows you to calculate your price while adjusting your cleaning speeds to allow for different soil loads, furniture density, crew size, and other variables. Data from the Field Inspection Guide will help you complete this worksheet.
  • Carpet Maintenance Pricing Form
Allows you to accurately price the annual and monthly costs of a Carpet Appearance Management maintenance program.
  • Job Costing Worksheet
Allows you to calculate how much profit you made on a simple job, a group of jobs, an entire day, or an entire week. Data from the Technician’s Log will help you complete this worksheet.

RESTORATION WORKSHEETS

Restoration work requires different equipment, materials, and calculations. So you’ll want to use these customized spreadsheets to determine your costs for each restoration job:

  • Restoration Equipment Costing Analysis
Shows you what it really costs to operate drying equipment on a daily basis. Complete one of these forms for each piece of drying equipment you use.

  • Restoration Job Costing Worksheet
Allows you to calculate how much profit you made on a single restoration job. It even lets you keep a running total as the job progresses. Data from the Technician’s Log will help you complete this worksheet.

Note: The Profit Building Suite is not for everyone. You need to have a general understanding of computers, and know how to perform basic functions such as loading files, copying files, printing, etc. Additionally, you’ll need a working knowledge of Microsoft® Excel. The reason the Suite is priced so low is that product support is not included. However, detailed annotations are included with the software, and these have proven to be sufficient help for those who have purchased this product.
